Amit Yoran, a prominent figure in cybersecurity and CEO of Tenable Holdings, passed away on January 3, 2025, at the age of 54, following a battle with cancer.

Yoran's career was marked by significant contributions to cybersecurity. He co-founded Riptech in 1998, one of the first managed security service providers, which was later acquired by Symantec. He also founded NetWitness, a network forensics company acquired by RSA Security, where he served as president. Additionally, Yoran was the founding director of the U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) at the Department of Homeland Security.

In 2017, Yoran became CEO of Tenable, leading the company through significant growth, including its initial public offering in 2018. Under his leadership, Tenable became a global leader in exposure management, helping organizations understand and reduce cybersecurity risks.
